An Ode to my Sister

Even though I wasn't with my sister in person on her first wedding anniversary but sure was in spirit. I wanted to celebrate her first engagement and wedding anniversary in grand style or what I could afford to do in this toughest month of my curriculum.
So treated my mates here for supper at 'Swing cafe' (no band ever plays there mind you) on the 18th and dinner on the 20th at a fancy chinese restaurant - 'Red Hot Chilli Pepper' (like the band so went ahead and tried it out).
Fell upon the following poem that I wrote for her last year as she entered the second stage of life - Grihasthashram.
An Ode to my Sister
My sister, my heart, my soul,
I just wanna let you know
that you are the one for me,
though strictly platonically.
The time you locked me up in the bathroom
to go to play with your friends mind you,
stems my earliest memories of you and me
which for you, I bet, was no big deal.
Growing up in your shadow
sometimes fat but often narrow,
has been the safest place of them all
besides our mommy's womb of course.
Depicting our real life friendship
by locking horns on stage as if,
we were no less than Susan and Nicole
was a treat for sure.
My initiation into adult life SP
is what legends are made of don't you feel,
my very own relationship expert hey you,
though free of cost but pretty damn good too.
People often wondered how I could do something never done before,
that is make my elder sis do all my chores,
but little did they know the truth I bet
that you, my alter ego, are an angel on this planet.
Having been so close to you throughout my life,
I know that you'd be a great wife,
one who would simply stop at nothing
to make jiju feel like something's burning!
I don't think I ever was
the annoying little sister or was I,
but I know for sure beyond a doubt
that you were the best elder sis, oh my!
Here's to you my best friend,
my guardian, role model and favourite sis,
I think of you now as a wife first
and the best one there is.
At times I feel there's a huge void inside of me
and that everything's changed at a rapid pace,
but then, in a flash, all my inhibitions vanish
at the sight of your radiating face.
