Home Field

Oh! Why does one realise the importance of a thing (animate and inanimate alike) only after its GONE. What I would give to overcome this shortcoming of human nature, only I know.
Take for instance our homestead. They say home is where the heart is. SO NOT TRUE. The abstraction of this statement from reality is unbelievable. Trust me, no matter what “they” say, least I need a place to retire at the end (and beginning) of the day and just BE ME, at peace with the cosmos. Oh! How have I come to accept the indispensability of a stable home field?
Unable to figure out the source of discomfort while epitomizing the life of a nomad to perfection, I found the answer in a book (yet again).
Every one’s home is their castle. A home provides a sense of belonging and security – both physical and psychological. It also offers comfort, relaxation and a chance to follow familiar routines.
It forms a Primary Territory defined as a distinct place that is clearly owned exclusively by a person or a group.
This is so because the environment in our home makes us the most free to express ourselves. It gives us territorial rights over part of our environment.
It is found that we exercise more control over our lives at home than anywhere else. (INDISPENSABLE).
Here we are in a poetic world of myth and metaphor where each of us can live with the chaos of experience and turn it into a little personal sense through the transforming power of collected objects... to give us a sense of completion and closure.
I finally found what I was looking for but only after a long ordeal. Proud resident of perhaps the most peaceful place this side of the Suez Canal, THANK YOU GOD for small mercies.
