3 X 5's
"If we fail to nourish our souls, they wither, and without soul, life ceases to have meaning... The creative process shrivels in the absence of continual dialogue with the soul. And creativity is what makes life worth living." - Marion Woodman (a writer, international teacher and worshop leader)
This just about sums up how I've felt over the past few months of wandering the lithosphere. I must stop myself lest I begin complaining about being in new places and meeting new people.
Loaded with enough ammunition (read a digicam and camcorder), whenever I stopped to capture the moment for posterity, the following song - 3 X 5 by John Mayer - would automatically play in my head. (I recently read that such "earworms" are quite common and can become a nuisance if not taken care of.)
I'm writing you to catch you up on places I've been
You held this letter, probably got excited but there's nothing else inside it.
Didn't have a camera by my side this time, hoping that I would see the world through both my eyes;
maybe I would tell you all about it when I'm in the mood to lose myself with words.
Today clouds are painting colours of the cowboy cliche
It's strange how clouds all look like mountains next to mountains anyway.
You should have seen that sunrise with your eyes, it brought me back to life,
You'll be with me next time I go outside, just no more 3X5's
Though I prefer 4X6, the song portrays to perfection what a visitor feels when away from their loved ones.
Here's my little collection of some 3X5s of the Abode of the clouds (read Meghalaya)

Bada Pani Lake at Shillong, Meghalaya

A Mesmerising lake on way to Cherrapunjee (our
pit stop for lunch)
A closeup of the above

Ingenious fishermen
The farmer in me

Pop Quiz - What is the chief difference between a moth and a butterfly?

Check out the earthworms I stomped upon

Our driveway on a usual cloudy morning and later with the sun whispering 'good evening'
