50-50 : A Sham

The other day I got to thinking about relationships and thinking a lot and then went on to philosophizing about it since I was at it. Equality in relationships was the seed sown in my mind from my everyday experiences. What came as a rude shock was the realization that there is no such thing as equality per se when two people come together*. One person invariably has the upper hand in more than one sphere, one who literally calls all the shots and gets away with it as well.

The question which I wanted to be answered was, 'Who then is a bigger fool - One who manages the reins and puts up for some reason or the other (read for a selfish cause) albeit half-heartedly or the one who submits to such drudgery thinking that it's a privilege?' Why does the latter continue to care?


* I'd like to believe that this doesn't apply in case of an ideal family, true friends and star-crossed lovers!
