A Year On
Let me begin with a cliche and say that time does really fly. Wasn't it just day before yesterday that I heaved a sigh of relief on getting rooted? And wasn't it yesterday that I was roaming the streets of Copenhagen with my beloved on our six-month wedding anniversary? I'm sure much water has seeped into the ground beneath Loch Lomond in the past year as well.
I have had unprecedented experiences and can't help but acknowledge the fact that each such experience has taught and changed me forever.
SO I have learnt that -
(i) Sincere, honest wishes/desires have a way of getting fulfilled by themselves (courtesy God). Case in point - Me quelching the desire to buy a chocolate cake (but otherwise hogging in a pastry shop with hubby) only to go home and find a lovely chocolate tea cake sitting pretty in the fridge!
(ii) Be thankful for what you have ALL THE TIME!! Look around you, the luxuries that you enjoy, be THANKFUL!
(iii) Before yearning for things, look at your own privileged self and what you have. It is never enough but be contend nevertheless because what you have is QUITE ENOUGH! Case in point - Admiring a lavender and blue combination dress on a guest only to find myself wearing the same combination!!
(iv) BE GOOD and DO GOOD ALWAYS and leave settling scores to GOD.
(v) The BIG celebratory days build unrealistic expectations. One should enjoy the pleasures of an ordinary uneventful day instead... Rather CELEBRATE each day, everyday!
